Pickup-car collision in Sylhet, 7 injured

Janomot report: Seven people, including six members of the same family, including a woman and a child, were injured in a collision between a pickup and a private car at Sherpur on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.

The accident took place in the Sherpur Sardarbazar area of ​​the highway around 9am on Tuesday (August 11).

Witnesses said the private car heading towards Moulvibazar collided with a pickup van in the morning. The driver of the private car and the passengers were injured. Among the injured are three women, one child and three men.

Sylhet Sherpur Highway Police Inspector. Ershadul Haque Bhuiyan said the injured were members of the same family. The accident took place while they were going to a relative's house in Nabiganj. They were rescued and sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Citing the hospital, he said the condition of a woman and a child among the injured was critical. Their bodies have undergone emergency surgery. Besides, two vehicles involved in the accident have been recovered.
