UP member arrested in Bishwanath murder case

Janomot report: Police have arrested a UP member in connection with the murder of Rabiul Islam, 12, a student of class 3 of a madrasa in Sylhet's Bishwanath. His name is Golam Hossain (45). He is the son of Azizur Rahman Gedur of Gowhari village in Daulatpur union of the upazila and a member of ward no. 3 of Daulatpur union.

Police arrested him from his home late Sunday (November 1). The arrested UP member was sent to court on Monday (November 2) at noon.
According to police, a team of police led by Bishwanath Police Station SI Debashish Sharma raided the Gowhari area of ​​the upazila on a tip-off and arrested UP member Golam Hossain, accused in the child Rabiul murder case. The UP member has been sent to court showing his arrest in the case.

Confirming the arrest of the UP member, Bishwanath Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim Musa said, “The arrested accused has been sent to court on Monday afternoon. The operation to arrest the other accused in the murder of child Rabiul is continuing and efforts are being made to unravel the murder mystery.

Incidentally, Rabiul went missing from his house in Naodhar-Rahmannagar village of the upazila on October 12 at around 10 am. The next day, on the morning of October 13, the police recovered the body of child Rabiul from a pond near the Ballar Bridge on the Rampasha-Bairagi Bazar road in the upazila. The victim's father Akbar Ali of Naodhar-Rahmannagar village of the upazila filed the case on the same night. In the case, 3-4 more people were made anonymous accused including the names of three neighbors.
