Janomot report: A procession was held in Golapganj to welcome Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for approving the draft of the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Act 2000, which was amended by the cabinet with the provision of death penalty as the maximum punishment for rape. The procession was organized by Golapganj Upazila and Municipal Swechchasebok League, Juba League and Chhatra League on Tuesday (November 3) afternoon. The procession started from Daripatan Chattar of the municipal city, went around the important road of Golapganj Bazar and met at a road rally in front of Noor Mansion.
Golapganj Municipal BCL President Kamran Ahmed presided over the street meeting while Golapganj Municipality Mayor and Municipal Awami League President Aminul Islam Rabel congratulated the Prime Minister and said, We are grateful, we thank, our request to the beloved leader, she has kept it. The Bangladesh Awami League family is grateful to Deshratna Sheikh Hasina.
Aftar Hossain, general secretary of Budhbaribazar Union Awami League, Kamran Hossain, general secretary of Amura Union Awami League also spoke under the leadership of Juba League leader Fakhrul Islam.Former Juba League leader Enayet Karim Khokon, District Volunteer League Co-Manpower Employment Secretary Akbar Hossain Lablu, Sylhet District Chhatra League Deputy Secretary Monirul Haque Pinu, Budhabaribazar Union Juba League President Raju Ahmed, Municipal BCL leader Saber Hossain Nayan, Mahfuzur Rahman on Wednesday.
