Tower Hamlets Council is hosting a virtual webinar on Wednesday 17 February (7pm to 8pm) to give residents the opportunity to ask local health experts questions about the Covid-19 vaccine.
The event, being held virtually due to the ongoing pandemic, will give an overview of Covid-19 in the borough and the vaccination programme including progress so far. It aims to answer any questions residents may have about the vaccine, and ensure information is shared locally to support communities in being confident and ready to take up the offer of vaccination when eligible.
The panel will include: Dr Somen Banerjee, Director of Public Health at Tower Hamlets Council, Mayor John Biggs, Councillor Rachel Blake, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing, Dr Anwara Ali MBE, local GP in Tower Hamlets, Professor Kevin Fenton, Regional Director London, Public Health England.
Also attending the event will be Tracy Cannell, Chief Executive of the GP Care Group Tower Hamlets, who are coordinating the vaccine programme in the borough.
Wednesday is the first in a planned series of webinars on the Covid-19 vaccine and is part of on going engagement with communities around the vaccine. Webinars to follow will be tailored to meet the needs of different communities and residents in Tower Hamlets, including the borough’s large Bengali and Somali community. These events will include speakers sharing information in community languages.
All questions submitted will be published with answers after the event.
