Andrew Kishore’s funeral after 2 children return from abroad

Janomot report: The funeral of legendary playback singer Andrew Kishore, who passed away on Monday after a long battle with cancer, will be held after his two children return from abroad.

His daughter Sanga and son Saptak study in Australia, said family sources.

Andrew Kishore will be laid to eternal rest after they return home.

The mortal remains of the legendary singer have been kept at the mortuary of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Andrew Kishore breathed his last at 6:55pm on Monday at a clinic in Rajshahi, said his brother-in-law Dr Patrik Bipul Biswas.

Earlier, Andrew Kishore was put on life support as his condition deteriorated.

On Sunday, the eight-time national award-winning singer was admitted to the private hospital in Rajshahi owned by his sister as his condition turned critical.

On June 11, Andrew Kishore returned home on a special flight after receiving treatment in Singapore for nine months.

Andrew Kishore went to Singapore on September 9 last year for advanced treatment and he was diagnosed with cancer there. He was later treated at Singapore General Hospital.

The famous musician was given a total of 24 chemotherapies in six steps.

Boron in 1955 in Rajshahi, Andrew Kishore had rendered more than 15,000 songs in movies.

He is survived by his wife Lipika Andrew and their two children.

Some of his popular songs include ‘Jiboner Golpo Achhe Baki Olpo’, ‘Dak Diyachhen Doyal Amare’, ‘Haire Manush Rongin Fanush’, ‘Amar Shara Deho Kheyo Go Mati’, ‘Amar Buker Moddhe Khane’, ‘Amar Babar Mukhe Prothom Jedin Shunechilam Gan’, ‘Bhengeche Pinjor Meleche Dana’, ‘Shobai To Bhalobasha Chae’.
