Lightning kills 2 in Naogaon

Janomot report: Two schoolboys were killed in a lightning strike at Sapahar upazila of Naogaon on Sunday noon (August 23). 

The deceased were identified as Hafijul Islam, 14, son of Afzal Hossain and Shafiqul Islam, 13, son of Esahak Ali, hailing from the area.

Confirming the news, Abdul Hai, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sapahar Police Station, said that a thunderbolt hit a group of schoolboys while they were playing football in local Patir school ground during rain.

Two bodies were recovered from the spot and handed over to the victims’ family, he said.
