Janomot report: The anti terrorism unit (ATU) of the police have arrested two activists of banned Ansar Al Islam on Monday morning. They were arrested huge explosive making materials, books and other materials from Saganna village in Jhenidah Sadar upazila.
The arrested were Inamul Haque, 24, son of late Abdur Rahman of Saganna Mangalpara and Serajul Islam, 23, son of late Ahmed Ali of Masjidpara of the village.
Jhenidah police in a press briefing on Monday noon informed the matter to the media activists at the conference room of superintendent of police.
Presided over by superintendent of police (SP) Hasanuzzaman, other senior police officials including ATU unit remain present during the press conference.
Police super said the ATU team members have arrested the duo from their respective houses in separate drives and seized explosive making materials like mobile circuits, modified mobile charger, homemade rechargeable torchlight, mobile battery, electrical switch, militant books, two phone mobile sets with 24 SIM cards, memory five cards etc.
The arrested had admitted their involvement in their participation in banned militant activities like establish Islamic states. The attested admitted that they have been conducting research in making more powerful explosives. The police was preparing to hand over the arrested to Jhenidah Sadar police station, SP said.
