Easy microwave recipes for a restaurant dining experience at home

Hence, it is hard to cook meals every day while keeping up with all the official works and maintaining social distancing. Although food delivery options are still available, people are more likely to cook home for safety reasons.

People are turning to YouTube for easy recipes as the most available source for recipes. And people are also looking for microwave recipes as it saves a lot of time and easy to cook or heat up leftovers. Here are some easy recipes you can try at your home by using a microwave oven.

Oil-free chicken suslik


Chicken cubes (1 kg), ginger paste (1 tablespoon), onion paste (1 tablespoon), lemon juice (1 tablespoon), tomato sauce (1 tablespoon), garlic paste (1/2 tablespoon), garam masala (1/2 teaspoon),  cumin powder (1/2 teaspoon), chilli powder (1/2 teaspoon), black pepper powder (1/2 teaspoon), soy sauce (1 teaspoon), mustard paste (1 teaspoon), salt (as required), sugar (1/2 teaspoon), oyster sauce (1 teaspoon), tomato ketchup (1 tablespoon)

For decorating: Cucumber, onion, green chilli, carrot, capsicum, tomato

Cooking method

Mix the chicken cubes with all the spices and store in a cool place for at least an hour. After an hour, insert the chicken cubes with capsicum, onion, tomato in suslik sticks and put them in a microwave-proof bowl. Brush all the susliks with tomato catchup to give an extra flavor boost and to keep the chicken moist. If you like your susliks peppery add some green chilli on top. Cover the bowl and put it in microwave for only 10 minutes and your favorite suslik is ready to serve.

Poached egg


Egg (1 piece), water (1 mug)


Take a mug, fill half of it with mineral water and warm it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Bring out the mug carefully. Gently break an egg and pour it in the warm water. Put the mug in the microwave for another 90 seconds. Drain the water, and you have a perfectly poached egg in no time.

Potato wedges


Large potatoes (2 pieces); extra virgin olive oil (1 tablespoon); seasoning, paprika, salt, garlic powder and parmesan cheese (as much as you prefer)


Scrub all potatoes to clean properly. Cut potatoes lengthwise into six to eight wedges. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, seasoning, paprika, salt, and garlic powder.  Drop potato wedges into seasoning mixture and give it a good toss to coat. Arrange the wedges on a microwave-proof dish. Pour the remaining seasoning over the wedges—microwave on high temperature for 8 to 10 minutes. At the half time of cooking, turn wedges over.

Remove from the microwave, sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and serve hot.

Mashed brinjal (Begun Vorta)


Big brinjal; minced or chopped onions, chilly and salt (according to taste)


Take the brinjal and cut halfway through twice with a sharp knife. Oil the brinjal and put inside the microwave on a net. Bring it out after 3 minutes, and mix with chopped onion, chilly and salt.
